EPA Awards UNC a Grant to Develop, Validate and Deliver Externally Predictive QSAR Models of Hepatotoxicity


Center investigators Tropsha, Wright and Rusyn will lead a new 2-year project funded by the US EPA. The project will include three, major, interlinked components: primary data collection and curation (Objective 1); development and validation of Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR) models of chemical hepatotoxicity (Objective 2), and incorporation of validated models into the publicly available ChemBench portal (chembench.mml.unc.edu) (Objective 3). Models resulting from this project will enable prioritization of chemicals for in vivo studies and will allow for regulatory decision support for chemical risk assessment.
